Prof. (Dr.) S K Nayak has diversified Institutional experience in Project Management, Business Development, Administration, Marketing, Finance, Budgeting, Costing and Client Relation Operations apart from Current State-of-the-Art Interdisciplinary Research, Technology Development, Industrial Consultancy, Teaching and Quality Management.
Leading internationally recognized inter disciplinary research programmes in the field of Polymer Blends, Composites, Nanocomposites, Biopolymers, Recycling Technology, Polymer Electrolytes, Bio-sensors, Coatings & Adhesives.Published extensively in International Journals, authored many books with International publishers till date and have many patented technologies.
Instrumental in maintaining effective liaisoning with the industries, funding agency, consultants and Government at highest levels. Over the years, acquired good command over project management technique, risk evaluation and working capital management to attain self-sustainability. Always been a front runner in building, training and retaining strong and highly motivated Team.
The R&D areas are streamlined based on the broad area of focused research into different Schools / Centres. The groups are created to cater to the technology requirements of the industries, defence and society. The research team of each school focuses on development and establishment of novel technologies, scaling-up from lab to bench & pilot scale, industrial tie-ups and pathway for commercialization.
Sucessfully completed several sponsored projects in the capacity of Investigator from various Government agencies & industries to
undertake advanced applied research in the broad areas of Polymer Science & Engineering.
Facilitated the promotion of opportunities to tackle 'live' problems and finding strategic methods for resolving them, leading to
a range of scientific and technological accomplishments. The research projects undertaken dealt with development of novel polymeric
materials and tailoring of properties based on suitable end-use for acquiring desired attributes.
Major areas of research have been diverted towards resolving engineering problems for benefit of industries, societal benefits towards improving the human life, preventing pollution to environment and renewable resource generation.
Designed Course curriculum for UG/PG in Plastics Engg. & Technology. Introduced various Technical, Vocational & Skill Development Courses in line with NSDA, Ministry of Skill Development, GoI with a long term aim of creating employable Indian youth and young Enterpreneures in the Chemical and Petrochemical Sectors.
16 books. 400 published papers. About 40 courses taught at CIPET, over the last 30 years. Over 50,000 learners registered in my Course. 22 Patents Awarded from 51 Nos. 30 Nos of Polymeric Products is Certified for Registration of Design.
